About Us

Manquin Flight Park (previously called Blue Sky) is a small nonprofit hang gliding club located about 30 minutes east of Kings Dominion and about 45 minutes north-east of downtown Richmond near the Queenfield Golf club in Manquin, Virginia.

Flight Training

At this time, Manquin Flight Park does not offer training to become a hang glider pilot.

Note to All Pilots

- All pilots including members are solely responsible in maintaining their flight skills according their USHPA Ratings.

- Because Manquin Flight Park is currently NOT a flight school, pilots exhibiting unlike flying skills that may poses safety hazards/concerns will be asked to seek out flight schools that can assist in bringing up their flight skills to the appropriate level according to their ratings registered with the United States Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association (USHPA). Pilots will not be allowed to fly at Manquin Flight Park until those deficiencies are resolved.

Time of Operation

The park is open for operations during the weekends (some holidays) weather permitting.

What Can Be Flown at the Park

Currently, the park only host hang glider flying and will review the possibility of including paragliding in 2025.

Launch Methods

The park only supports Truck Towing as the launching platform.
